01What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies and browser storage are small pieces of information saved by your browser. They let a website remember things, such as that you are logged in.
02What we use
- Login cookie (cb_session): keeps company users and administrators signed in to the dashboard. It is signed so it cannot be changed, is not readable by page scripts, and is removed when you log out or it expires.
- Chat history (browser storage): the chat window remembers the current conversation for each assistant, so a visitor can continue after reloading the page. It stays on the visitor's device until they clear the chat or their browser data.
- Notification state (browser storage): remembers which dashboard notifications you have already read.
These are strictly necessary for features you use, so they do not require consent under most cookie rules.
03What we don't use
ChatDesk does not use advertising cookies, and does not track visitors across other websites. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first.
04For businesses adding the chat bubble
When you add a ChatDesk assistant to your website, mention it in your own privacy or cookie notice, including that chats are processed by an AI service and that visitors may choose to share contact details.
05Your control
You can delete cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Blocking the login cookie will stop you from logging in to the dashboard, and clearing site data will reset saved chat history.
